Fetal Calf Serum

Most Drosophila cell culture media must be supplemented with 5-20% heated fetal bovine serum (FBS) to supply essential growth factors. Before using the serum, it is supposed to be thawed at room temperature and then heated in a 56°C water bath for 30-60 min.
